Waiter / butler

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional service in a luxury setting, luxury or boutique luxury hotel or fine-dine restaurant? We are seeking an experienced Butler/Waiter with a strong background in fine dining, wine, and Western cuisine to join our team at Hidden Gem, the signature restaurant of Hidden Hills Villas, a family-owned boutique luxury villa resort in Uluwatu, Bali. Our resort is a proud member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, affiliated with Hilton.

The role

We are looking for a skilled Butler/Waiter who is not only passionate about fine dining and wine but also has the experience to deliver top-tier service in a luxury environment. This role is integral to ensuring that our guests enjoy a seamless and elevated dining experience. With your expertise, you will enhance our guests stay by providing personalized service that exceeds expectations and by creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences. You will be required to be trained extensively in wine, so a keen interest in the world of wine is needed for any applicant.

Qualifications

• Provide attentive, personalized service to guests, ensuring their needs are met with discretion and efficiency.
• Serve meals and beverages to guests with impeccable timing and presentation.
• Offer expert advice on wine pairings and menu selections, enhancing the overall dining experience.
• Assist in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization within the dining areas and kitchen.
• Act as a concierge, offering knowledgeable recommendations about local attractions, dining, and activities.
• Build strong guest relations, ensuring every guest feels valued and attended to, with a flair for creating unforgettable experiences.
• Continuously learn about our menu, wine offerings, and service standards to provide the best possible experience for our guests.

Key responsibilities

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a waiter or butler in a luxury hotel, fine dining, or semi-fine dining, hotspot restaurant.
• Extensive knowledge of wine and Western cuisine, with a genuine passion for both.
• Strong communication and salesmanship skills, with the ability to confidently upsell and recommend menu items.
• Ability to work well in a team and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Good conversational English skills required, with a willingness to improve.
