Spa Therapist

The Layar Designer Villas & Spa in Seminyak is looking for an experienced Spa Therapist.

Employment status: Full-Time

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum education: Vocational High School (SMK) or equivalent, preferably in Beauty Therapy, Spa Therapy, or Hospitality.
• Previous experience as a Spa Therapist or Massage Therapist is preferred.
• A professional spa therapy or massage certification is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of massage techniques, body treatments, and spa services.
• Familiarity with traditional massage, relaxation massage, aromatherapy, and body scrubs is an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic English communication skills; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
• Friendly, professional, patient, and customer-oriented.
• Excellent personal hygiene, grooming, and professional appearance.
• Physically fit and able to perform massage treatments according to service standards.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to guest comfort and satisfaction.
• Able to maintain guest confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Explain available spa treatments, services, and treatment procedures to guests.
• Conduct consultations to understand guests’ needs, preferences, and any relevant contraindications before treatment.
• Perform massage treatments, body treatments, and other spa services according to established standards and procedures.
• Ensure guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction throughout each treatment.
• Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, towels, and products before each appointment.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene in treatment rooms and spa facilities.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
• Recommend suitable spa treatments and products based on guests’ needs.
• Maintain accurate treatment records and report any guest concerns to the supervisor.
• Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally.
• Ensure all spa equipment and products are properly maintained and stored.
• Coordinate with the Spa Supervisor or Spa Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.

Recommended Minimum Recruitment Criteria

• Experience: Preferably 1 year of experience as a Spa Therapist or Massage Therapist.
• Technical skills: Good knowledge of massage techniques and spa treatments.
• Certification: Spa or massage therapy certification is preferred.
• Communication: Basic English communication skills.
• Service attitude: Friendly, attentive, discreet, and guest-oriented.
• Professional standards: Excellent hygiene, punctuality, and respect for guest privacy.
• Flexibility: Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
